How to Make Ketoprak - Indonesian Cuisine

Hi Friends, this time I will share a traditional Indonesian recipe prepared by Ketoprak. Ketoprak is one type of food using diamond which is easily found in all regions of Indonesia.

Who says traditional food is less popular with food from abroad such as pizza and spagetti? Ketoprak which is one of Jakarta's traditional foods is still in demand for breakfast or dinner.

The main ingredients for making Ketoprak are tofu, vermicelli, cucumber, bean sprouts and can also use boiled eggs that are equipped with peanut sauce, sweet soy sauce, and a sprinkling of fried onions.
The tools used to process ketoprak are not difficult, you just need to press and knife.


For materials needed such as:
- Diamond, cut the box - 2 pieces> if you do not understand the diamond can search on Google what is diamond.
- White tofu - 5 pieces
- Bean sprouts, remove the tail - 100 grams
- Vermicelli - 120 gram

Ingredients for Sauce
- Peanuts, fried - 150 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- cayenne pepper - 5 grains
- Brown sugar, drawstring - 50 grams
- Tamarind, dissolve in 150 ml of boiled water - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Supplementary material
- Sweet soy sauce - to taste
- Fried onions - to taste
- Starch crackers - to taste
- Boiled eggs (optional) - to taste

Ketoprak Processing Process
1. Fried white tofu until cooked. Remove and drain. Cut the box and set it aside.
2. Brew the bean sprouts and vermicelli using hot water. Drain and set aside.
3. Make the sauce: Blend or grind the garlic, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, and peanuts. Add tamarind water, mix until smooth. Set aside.
4. Arrange the diamond, tofu, vermicelli, and bean sprouts on the plate. Flush with peanut sauce then give soy sauce according to taste. Sprinkle fried onions and complete with crackers and boiled eggs.
5. Ready to be served.

Additional Tips
1. After the vermicelli is brewed and drained, it can be cut according to taste to make it easier when served.
2. Fried or roasted peanuts until completely cooked so that it does not smell raw and rancid, and so that the savory flavor comes out.
3. When making peanut sauce, you can add water little by little to the desired thickness.
